In order to collect valuable feedback on S2BIOM project interim outputs from a selected audience of experts, an interactive validation workshop was held in Brussels on June 16, on the occasion of the European Sustainable Energy Week.
The event aimed at disseminating information about the project objectives, methodology and interim outcomes and at mobilising stakeholders along the biomass value chain in order to and gain their commitment and qualified feedback.
Short presentations on key features of the project with exhaustive Q&A sessions especially focused on describing and validating the methodology at the basis of the electronic toolset developed by S2BIOM; Experts participating in the discussions provided valuable inputs on the sustainability criteria adopted in the framework of the project.
S2BIOM complements its strategies & roadmaps with bottom-up information deriving from a comprehensive set of case studies, which also enable the project partners to validate the toolset in a close-to-real-life environment. In East and South-East Europe, where biomass supply chains are less structured and data is scarce, case studies are addressing wider aspects, including policy perspectives & stakeholder engagement.
Four case studies are currently under implemention in CEI Member States:
