On 17 September 2026 in Udine, Secretary General Franco Dal Mas participated in the Forum on Regional Cooperation in Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe, organised by the Rotary Club of Udine, where he addressed the theme of Europe’s reunification, from the Western Balkans to Ukraine and Moldova, and the opportunities this process can offer to North-East Italy and the Autonomous Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
In his remarks, Secretary General Dal Mas stressed that the European integration of the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova should be viewed within the broader perspective of the reunification of the European continent, especially in today’s complex geopolitical environment.
In this context, regional cooperation remains a key instrument for bringing countries and communities closer together, strengthening connections and supporting European integration through concrete initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
“Reuniting Europe is not only a political and institutional objective. It means creating connections, economic opportunities and ever-closer relations among our countries and, above all, among our people. The Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova are part of this process, and regional cooperation can make a concrete contribution to advancing it,” Dal Mas said.
