XXV Summer Seminar in Albena strengthens dialogue on governance and regional resilience in Central and Eastern Europe

From 9 to 13 June 2025, the XXV Anniversary Summer Seminar for Young Public Policy Professionals was held in Albena, Bulgaria. The event, organised by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), brought together young professionals, experts and policymakers from CEI countries.

The event sought to enhance regional collaboration and institutional capacity through constructive dialogue, knowledge sharing and skills development on governance, security and socio-economic transformation in a context of persistent uncertainty.

The anniversary edition was held under the theme "Strategic Vision for Central and Eastern Europe in Times of Continuous Uncertainty", combining expert-led discussions with interactive foresight sessions. Throughout the programme, participants engaged in sessions on strategic foresight, regional security, economic resilience and EU-related developments, complemented by team-based exercises that fostered practical policy skills.

“Strong institutional capacity and good governance are essential for democratic stability, security and European integration. Transparent and accountable institutions, supported by multi-level cooperation and inclusive policymaking rooted in democratic values, the rule of law and human rights, underpin sustainable development.

The CEI acts as a platform for promoting institutional development and governance, enhancing cooperation with regional partners to support modernisation and inclusive institutional transformation. “

The XXV Summer Seminar facilitated the exchange of knowledge between emerging professionals and senior experts, thereby fostering regional dialogue and promoting forward-looking governance approaches across the CEI area.
