CEI Joins Council of Europe Youth Committees as observer to strengthen regional cooperation

Last October the CEI was granted observer status at the intergovernmental committees of the Council of Europe’s Youth Department. This status allows the CEI to participate in the meetings of the European Steering Committee for Youth and the Joint Council of Youth, which together include representatives from the Youth Ministries of 48 countries and youth networks, fostering cooperation in the youth sector across Europe.

Deputy Secretary General Zsuzsanna Kiràly took part in the recent Youth Statutory meetings: the 52nd meeting of the Joint Council on Youth and the 74th plenary meeting of the European Steering Committee for Youth in Budapest, Hungary, where she gained insight into the work of the two intergovernmental committees.

The CEI’s involvement focuses on bolstering cooperation among its Member States, particularly with those who have been designated as CEI Youth Reference Points.
