The Italian Senate will host the conference “The Central European Initiative – Turning a Vision into Reality”, marking the 30th anniversary of the CEI - Executive Secretariat, headquartered in Trieste.
Organised at the initiative of Senator Maurizio Gasparri, President of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, under the patronage of the Italian Senate, the event will bring together high-level institutional representatives, including Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas.
Discussions will focus on the CEI’s contribution to European reunification, particularly through its support for the EU integration of the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova, as well as on the Organisation’s future role in strengthening regional cooperation.
The event will also feature the presentation of the policy paper prepared by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), the CEI’s scientific partner for the anniversary celebrations, outlining perspectives for the Organisation’s future development.
