training programme "Introduction to Public Finance Management" gives junior economists, treasurers and budget officers the most important knowledge on functioning of public finance, their major tasks, interconnections and relations. The course’s content is focused on: broad concepts in the management of public finance (revenues and expenses) and key elements of the public finance reform; overview of tax policies, various kinds of taxes, their scopes, and basics of tax administration; general principles of budget formulation, main tasks of budget systems and major techniques to improve efficiency in budget preparations; general principles of budget execution and reforms needed to improve the expenditure cycle; key treasury reform objectives and public debt management. Theoretical lectures are followed by cases from real life in order to help participants better understand presented subjects. Training materials are prepared in the form of printed manuals so they can serve as a reference at every day’s work. The programme is based on Slovenian good practices in the field and is tailored to particular needs identified in a beneficiary country
