(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 23 OTT - According to the Daily Telegraph, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is one of five candidates from which the EU may choose a mediator to engage Vladimir Putin's Russia in peace talks aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict. Besides Meloni, the Brussels shortlist includes Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Czech President Petr Pavel, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St›re.
