Masterpieces from the Kunst Museum Winterthur closed with 81,095 visitors, indicating a strong national and international draw as well as a high level of public appreciation." Sergio Emidio Bini, regional councillor for Productive Activities and Tourism, announced an unprecedented result for Udine: the highest number of visitors ever recorded at a city exhibition. The exhibition, produced by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in collaboration with PromoTurismoFVG, the Municipality of Udine, and MondoMostre, and curated by David Schmidhauser and Vania Gransinigh, brought to Casa Cavazzini 84 works by some of the greatest masters of the 19th and 20th centuries: Van Gogh, Monet, Pissarro, Sisley, Picasso, Mondrian, Kandinsky, Magritte, Ernst, Klee, and de Chirico. The exhibition received positive feedback for both the quality of the works on display and the exhibition layout. February was the busiest month, with an average of 400 visitors per day, including a 15% increase in international visitors. The majority of visitors were Italian, with 35% of international visitors hailing from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Germany. Milan was the most prominent city of origin, followed by Trieste. Ljubljana and Vienna were also listed among the top 15 cities. The audience is 61% female and 39% male, with the 45-54 age group accounting for the majority (23%). (ANSA).
