(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 14 - "Montenegro is a country with incredible potential. It is situated in the heart of our continent, at the crossroads of Central and Southern Europe, and East and West. It has a young, dynamic population. It has joined our Single European Payments Area. And it is on track to join the Union. However, investment in the country has not yet reached its full potential. I am referring specifically to European investment. We should invest in Montenegro now, rather than waiting for accession. We should not miss out on existing opportunities. That is why I have decided to prioritise attracting more European investment to the Western Balkans, even before you join our Union." This was stated by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during the Investment and Growth Forum in Montenegro. (ANSA).
