(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 25 - "Today, borders are reappearing in new forms: wars that touch Europe, epochal migrations, technological and energy revolutions that are impacting our lives and our policies," but "Friuli Venezia Giulia confirms its position as a border region and, at the same time, a link between the Adriatic and Central Europe," said Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor and President of the Conference of Regions, Massimiliano Fedriga, at the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples in Rimini today. Fedriga delivered a video message to the panel "The Borders of the Adriatic." Fedriga recalled how the Adriatic has been a crossroads of peoples, cultures, and economies for centuries, from Venice to the Cold War and the current importance of its ports. The upcoming challenges cannot be postponed. The conflict in Ukraine and the instability in the Middle East necessitate new security and foreign policy priorities. (ANSA).
