(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 17 - The Pride of June 28 in Budapest will be organised by the city of the Hungarian capital, eliminating the need for police authorisation. The announcement was made by the city's Green mayor, Gergely Karacsony, and the march's spokesman, Mate Hegedus, after the police banned the march last week based on a March law that created a legal basis for prohibiting LGBTQ demonstrations, citing minor protection. Every year, the city of Budapest commemorates Hungary's final liberation from Soviet troops, and according to Karacsony's announcement, this year's pride will coincide with that celebration. (ANSA).
