500,000 car sales drop for Volkswagen

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 4 - Car demand in Europe has not recovered from the Covid pandemic, with deliveries down about two million units compared to previous peaks, and Volkswagen alone losing sales of "500,000 cars, the equivalent of about two factories." This was stated by the group's financial director, Arno Antlitz, during a meeting with employees in Wolfsburg, after the German brand hypothesised factory closures in Germany for the first time in its history earlier this week.
