Ukraine: from EU protection equipment for CBRN threats

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 27 - The European Commission has activated its new rescEU emergency reserves in response to a request from the Government of Ukraine for medical supplies, protective gear, and specialised equipment for public health concerns like chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats. Among the supplies provided by the EU are 300,000 protective suits, 5,600 litres of decontaminants, and 850 pieces of equipment for decontamination operations. The EU is also giving patient monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators, along with safety gear for the medical staff, like masks and gowns, because hospitals in Ukraine urgently require medical equipment. This aid will be given to Ukraine from the EU's emergency stockpiles located in Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Germany, Greece, and Denmark and have a total financial value of €11.3 million. (ANSA).
