The Department of Water Management at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Novi Sad (Serbia), and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Florence, (Italy) jointly organised the two-day workshop “StepInWEAP - Stepping Beyond Conventional Water Resources Management with WEAP”.
The event was held at the University of Novi Sad on 28-29 December 2015 and gathered 22 academic researchers from 7 CEI countries addressing complex water-related problems and integrated water resources planning. The main objective of the workshop was to train water professionals, students and academics in using WEAP (Water Evaluation And Planning) in order to step beyond conventional water resources management and integrate natural, engineered, social and economic components of a water system into the evaluation of water planning and management options.
The workshop included lectures, WEAP software installation, an introduction to software features, training exercises, the development of WEAP applications for a selected case study region, and the presentation and discussion of a developed WEAP application.
