SEETAC Meeting in Belgrade

The 8th  Meeting of the SEETAC Project (South East European Transport Axis Cooperation), organised by the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, took place on 18 January 2012 in Belgrade.

The gathering was opened by Mr. Dejan Lasica, Assistant Minister of Infrastructure and Energy who stressed the importance of the project for Serbia in view of improving regional cooperation. He also highlighted the main infrastructural achievements in Serbia over the past year as well as future objectives. Mr. Alain Baron, from the European Commission, DG Move, underlined the importance of the project for the Commission. He also offered full support to the SEETAC partners in the completion of the Multimodal traffic scenarios through the TEN-TEC database.   The meeting dealt with the main results deriving from the data collection, traffic flows in the South-eastern Europe in the existing and future situation, as well as the results on the transport model. Partners discussed the next modeling activities for the definition of future scenarios as well as the selection of pilot projects for which possible funding opportunities will be identified.   The next Ministerial Conference will take place together with the Investors Conference in Athens on 15 May, 2012.   for more information: marconato@cei-es.org
