The Office for the CEI Fund at the EBRD has announced the results of the 2025 Call for Proposals under the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP). The initiative provides financial support to projects that align with the goals of the CEI, focusing on fostering regional cooperation, capacity-building, and sustainable development across Central and Southeastern Europe.
Out of 83 applications, 15 standout projects have been selected, in agreement with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to receive an overall financial backing of 553,322 EUR provided by Italy through the CEI Fund at the EBRD.
The winning projects - both bilateral and regional - span a wide range of strategic sectors, including institutional development and good governance, digital transformation, energy and climate, environmental protection, innovation, scientific research, and EU integration. They bring together a wide network of partners and stakeholders such as international organisations, public institutions, government agencies, universities, research centres and the private sectors, each contributing specific expertise to the projects.
By fostering collaboration among diverse actors, the initiatives strengthen cross-border partnerships, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, and contribute to the regional development and EU integration efforts of the beneficiary countries, i.e. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine.
