The SEE Mosaics Meeting VII, “Reconsidering Protection of Mosaic Heritage in the Face of Climate Challenges – Conservation, Preservation and Restoration,” is organised within the regional SEE Mosaics project. It is a four-day event bringing together heritage professionals to discuss the protection of mosaics in the context of climate change.
The programme will feature paper presentations, a poster exhibition, video presentations, and a study tour. Discussions will focus on climate-related risks, damage assessment, and practical, sustainable conservation and restoration approaches for mosaics ranging from Roman-period works to later and contemporary examples, both in situ and in museum collections. The meeting will also welcome case studies, pilot interventions, and ethical reflections, while encouraging cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Participants and prospective speakers can find further information about the programme and paper submission here.
