Conference on “Strengthening regional cooperation on public health. European Health Union: regulations, strategies, and programs. The relevance for CEI countries.”

The event co-organised by the Moldovan CEI Presidency, the Central European Initiative-Executive Secretariat, and the WHO/Europe and WHO Office to the EU will take place in the broader framework of the WHO Leadership Dialogue on Global Health Diplomacy gathering WHO Representatives and senior officials from the Ministries of Health from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia.

The joint session will be dedicated to the European Health Union regulations, programmes, and tools which are particularly relevant for the countries in the EU accession process. Tt will feature perspectives from the European Commission’s DG SANTE, DG NEAR, DG HERA, DG RTD, ECDC and EMA.

In particular, the event aims to facilitate new regional cooperative connections, to discuss the latest EU health related developments and their relevance for CEI Member States, and to explore the new opportunities and practical tools offered by the EU Commission to advance health and wellbeing in CEI countries. It will also aspire to enable an acceleration of readiness for the EU accession process and a clearer consensus on sub-regional and national regulatory harmonisation and on the reforms needed.
