Coronavirus: EIB providing support to Montenegro economy

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 15 SET - The European Investment Bank (EIB) will invest 50 million euro to support tourism and other sectors affected by COVID-19 in Montenegro, the EIB announced. Small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-caps in tourism and other economic sectors will benefit from the loan that EIB has signed with the Montenegrin Investment and Development Fund (IDF), the Bank said in a statement. The loan will provide support for the faster recovery of the economy "by unlocking more affordable financing for SMEs, mid-caps and public sector enterprises to sustain jobs and maintain their liquidity." The EIB loan is a part of the Team Europe Western Balkans COVID-19 recovery support programme, announced at the EU-Western Balkans Zagreb Summit in April. (ANSA).
