Serbia-Croatia: Vucic, meeting with Plenkovic in Davos was ok

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JANUARY 21 - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed his satisfaction at the end of a meeting today in Davos with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. Relations between Belgrade and Zagreb remain tense due to the events of the Second World War and the consequences of the Serbo-Croatian war of 1991-1995. "The meeting with Plenkovic was open and pleasant, we talked about the relations between Serbia and Croatia, and it seems to me that there are more trust and optimism," said Vucic cited by the media. Croatia, which along with Slovenia is the only country among the former Yugoslav countries to be part of the European Union, has been holding the six-month rotating presidency of the EU since the beginning of the year. Vucic and Plenkovic both participate in the World Economic Forum which opened yesterday evening in Davos. Vucic participated in a morning in a panel on the Western Balkans, in which Kosovar President Hashim Thaci also takes part. The two have not met for over a year since the interruption of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina due to the tariffs increased by 100% imposed on Serbian and Bosnian goods by the Kosovar leadership.
