Croatia: more foreign tourists in 2019, +5%

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The tourism sector in Croatia recorded an increase of arrivals and overnights of foreign tourists between January and August 2019. Foreign tourist arrivals rose by 5% year-on-year to 14.7 million and overnights by foreign tourists by 1% to 79.1 million, the Croatian Tourism ministry said in statement. The total number of tourist arrivals rose by 5% to 16.5 million, overnights by 2% to 90.1 million, the ministry added. Most overnights were produced by tourists from Germany (17 million), Slovenia (9.5 million), Austria (6.3 million), Poland (5.4 million), Italy (4,9 million), Czechia (4.7 million) and the United Kingdom (3.5 million). The results are "in line with the expectations and plans," said Tourism minister Gari Cappelli. (ANSA).
