Slovenia, Krsko returns to full power

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 19 - Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krško, resumed full power output on Tuesday evening due to improved weather conditions and cooling from the Sava River, according to Slovenian news agency STA. Cooling towers are still in use to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. In the midst of a prolonged heatwave and drought, the nuclear plant reduced its power output to 80% on August 6 to limit its impact on the Sava river. It increased output to 90% capacity last week as conditions improved slightly. After some rain at the beginning of the week and temperatures dropping, it was able to resume full power on Tuesday evening. (ANSA).
