(ANSA) - PRISTINA, JUL 28 - Two people suspected of alleged war crimes have been arrested in Zubin Potok, in northern Kosovo near Mitrovica, Police of Kosovo announced. The two arrested individuals, M.J. and M.B., whose nationalities have not been disclosed, are accused of committing crimes against the civilian population in the Mitrovica region during the 1999 Kosovo War, resulting in the deaths of 23 Albanian civilians. According to the investigation conducted by the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, the case concerns the tragic events of April 19, 1999, when a group of unarmed Albanian civilians, traveling toward Montenegro, was stopped in the villages of Kalludra and Vogël, in the municipality of Zubin Potok. According to witness accounts, the civilians were first robbed of their money and valuables, and subsequently, 23 of them were executed and buried at a site near the river in Kalludra and Vogël. The suspects were detained for 48 hours, according to a police press release. (ANSA).
