(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 17 - The EU calls on Slovakia on the rule of law, while noting progress in reforming the crime of "abuse of law" against judges for decisions taken in the exercise of their duties, in its 2026 report, the European Commission calls on Slovakia to provide greater protections for the judiciary, journalists, and public media. In particular, Brussels notes "no significant progress" in fighting high-level corruption and ensuring a transparent and inclusive legislative process. (ANSA).
