(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 13 - The Paris judicial court has officially opened investigations into Fabrice Leggeri, the former head of Frontex and current MEP for the far-right French party Rassemblement National (RN), who is accused of complicity in crimes against humanity, according to sources familiar with the matter cited by Agence France Presse this morning. The Paris Court of Appeal ordered the opening of the legal case against Leggeri following a lengthy judicial process. The Frenchman, who is linked to Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella's party, is accused of complicity in crimes against humanity and torture for what prosecutor Emmanuel Daoud describes as "migrant hunting" as part of his former role at Frontex.
