Slovenia's irregular migration increased by 50% in the first two months of 2026

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAR 18 - Slovenia saw an increase in irregular migrants arriving in early 2026, with police recording 3,576 cases of illegal border crossings in the first two months of the year, according to the Slovenian news agency STA. This marks a 50% increase over the same period last year (2,385). Citizens of Afghanistan constituted the largest group, followed by Egyptians and Bangladeshis. (ANSA).
