Serbian Patriarch to Pope, Putin, Trump: 'Stop Kosovo, it discriminates against Serbs'

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 13 - Serbian Patriarch Porfirije wrote a letter today to Pope Leo XIV, Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and other "leading European and world statesmen," urging them to use their authority to have the authorities in Pristina halt the implementation of the so-called foreigners' law, which Belgrade considers highly discriminatory against Kosovo's Serb minority, Tanjug reports. The full implementation of the measure, which is set for Sunday, March 15, "would not only jeopardise the activities of the University of Kosovska Mitrovica, the primary and secondary schools attended by Serb students according to the state (Serbian) curricula, as well as the functioning of the entire healthcare system through which Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija receive medical care, but also the survival of the Serb people and religious shrines," among the oldest of the Serbian Church, in Kosovo.
