Equal Pay Day conference in Prague highlights AI, gen Z, and future of work

The International Conference Equal Pay Day, held in Prague on 26-27 March under the theme “Future”, brought together around 1,800 participants from 18 countries.

Organised by the non-profit organisation Business & Professional Women CR (BPWCR), in collaboration with major international partners, the two-day event featured the participation of prominent speakers who shared best practices and insights on topics such as Artificial Intelligence and its impact on corporate structure and operations, the entry of Generation Z into the labour market and the varying needs of different generations.

Keeping with tradition, the so-called ‘Empower Day’ offered participants a range of personal development opportunities, including speed mentoring, coaching, workshops, and networking.

“The Equal Pay Day conference proves that when women and men, business leaders, expert organisations, political representatives, and entrepreneurs meet in one place, a vision of the future is born that is resilient, fair, and competitive" says Eva Primus Kovandová, BPWCR President.

Cooperation with the CEI began in 2022 and has since been further strengthened, with the aim of fostering reflection on the societal impact of gender inequalities - particularly the untapped potential of underrepresented women - while reinforcing networks of empowerment organisations across CEI countries.

With the support of the CEI, professional women from several CEI countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Ukraine) attended this year’s conference, where they had the opportunity to actively participate and benefit from its mentoring and networking activities.

The event further emphasised the importance of supporting Ukrainian women across the region. Speakers from UNICEF, alongside Ukrainian business leaders, explored the socio-economic impact of the war and the challenges of accessing employment in an increasingly complex and evolving context.
