(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 3 - According to ERT, Greece has decided to relocate a battery of Patriot missile systems to the island of Karpathos (also known as Scarpanto) in the southeastern Aegean Sea. Patriots are a surface-to-air guided missile system that can target both aircraft and ballistic missiles. They are regarded as one of the most important air defence assets. The move comes after Athens decided to beef up its defences in the region following a drone attack on a British military base in Cyprus. Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias is expected in Cyprus today to meet with President Nikos Christodoulides. (ANSA).
