No obstacles to restarting the pipeline, Ukraine must restore flow: Orban

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 2 - Satellite images confirm that "there are no technical obstacles" to restarting the Druzhba pipeline, which transports Russian oil to Europe, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated in a video posted on his social media channels following a national security meeting. "Based on satellite imagery and operational information available to us, it is clear that the Druzhba pipeline is operational," the prime minister stated, referring to a "detailed report on the attack on the pipeline and its condition." According to Orbán, "the attack did not directly affect the pipeline, so there are no technical obstacles to its restart." The prime minister urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to "restart the Druzhba pipeline" and allow Hungarian and Slovak inspectors to enter to resolve the dispute. "We will maintain our countermeasures until the Ukrainians resume oil shipments," he said. Orban reiterated his claims that Kiev is attempting to blackmail Budapest, warning that "Hungary will not give up and will break the oil blockade." (ANSA).
