EU Council approves proposal on safe third countries

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 8 - The EU Council approved a proposal to amend EU Regulation 2024/1348 regarding the application of the "safe third country" concept. Spain, Greece, France, and Portugal all opposed the proposal. However, a qualified majority was achieved. At the same time, the Council approved a regulation that creates an EU-wide list of safe countries of origin. (ANSA).
