Former Ukrainian chief behind Nord Stream sabotage: WSJ

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 10 - German investigators are convinced that the Ukrainian group that allegedly blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea was directed by Valeriy Zaluzhny, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Commander-in-Chief at the time. According to the Wall Street Journal, German police and prosecutors have a "clear picture of how an elite Ukrainian military unit carried out the attacks under the direct leadership of General Valeriy Zaluzhny." The saboteurs aimed to reduce Russia's oil revenues and economic ties with Germany. (ANSA).
