
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 10 - The opposition Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the ruling Vetevendosje party (VV, led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti) both won five and four mayoral seats today, for a total of seven each, including the first round on October 12. According to preliminary results released this evening by the electoral commission, the LDK has won Pristina with its candidate Perparim Rama, who will be mayor for the second time, and celebrations are taking place in downtown Pristina. The ruling Vetevendosje party (nationalist left) won in South Mitrovica, the country's second-largest city after the capital, in a close race with the candidate of the opposition Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), which emerged as the third-largest force with three mayors today, bringing the total to six after those elected in the first round.
