Slovenian opposition calls for prime minister's resignation

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 29 - In Slovenia, the opposition continues to call for Prime Minister Robert Golob's resignation after he stated that the state apparatus had failed to ensure security in the country's southeast. At yesterday's extraordinary council meeting of the Novo Mesto municipality, which Golob and several of his cabinet ministers attended, the prime minister presented a package of security measures in response to the recent murder of a 48-year-old man by a young member of the local Roma community. According to the opposition parties SDS and NSI, the prime minister is solely responsible for the current situation, which he was unable to address during his term, let alone now, with six months left in office.
