Orban working to circumvent US sanctions on Russian oil

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 24 - Hungary is developing a strategy to "circumvent" US sanctions against Russian oil companies. "There are indeed sanctions against some Russian oil companies," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in an interview with Kossut Radio, adding that he "started the week by consulting several times with the management" of Hungary's energy company MOL. "We are working on ways to circumvent these sanctions," Orbán said, emphasising that "anyone who wants to reduce the price of public services must defend Hungary's right to purchase oil and gas from Russia."
