Gorizia hosts Cross Border film school

(ANSA) - GORIZIA, 16 OTT - The second edition of the Cross Border Film School was unveiled today. This cross-border advanced film education programme is promoted as part of BorGO Cinema, a hub dedicated to the seventh art established in the heart of Gorizia with funding from the Borghi National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and collaboration between the Cross Border Film School, Palazzo del Cinema, Hiša filma, Kinoatelje, and èStoria. Over 220 applications from around the world were received, and 15 students from nine countries, including Italy, Brazil, Croatia, Pakistan, and Mexico, were chosen. The programme, which consists of three majors: screenwriting, production, and directing, will run until May 2026 and will culminate with the production of a short film set in Borgo Castello. The press conference also included a teaser for the first edition's final short film, Lo sfratto. Instructors included two-time Oscar nominee Dante Spinotti, directors Sonja Prosenc and Anja Medved, screenwriter Nicos Panayotopoulos, producer Ines Vasiljević, and British story consultant Paul Tyler.
