Greece to vote tomorrow on 13-hour workday

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 15 - The Greek parliament is scheduled to vote tomorrow morning on a bill supported by the conservative Nea Dimokratia government that legalises the 13-hour workday under certain conditions. The bill allows employees to work 13 hours a day for the same employer (exceeding the standard 8-hour workday) for no more than 37 days per year under a voluntary agreement, with a 40% pay increase. Currently, Greek law allows for a 13-hour workday, but only for two different employers. Opposition parties called for reform to be withdrawn. (ANSA).
