(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 14 - "It is now clear to everyone that Europe must become more robust and tougher in the fight against illegal migration," Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said upon arriving at the EU Home Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg. "This also means proceeding with consistent repatriations of criminals and irregular migrants, including to countries like Syria and Afghanistan," he said, adding that "today we will discuss deportations to Syria" and that "I am confident that other Member States will soon follow Austria's example."
