Kosovo, many town head to runoff

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 13 - On Sunday, Kosovo citizens voted to elect mayors and the composition of municipal assemblies in a peaceful and orderly manner. With a 39.5% turnout, lower than in the 2021 local elections, the race produced close results in most municipalities, necessitating a runoff. In Pristina, Prizren, Peja, Gjakova, and Mitrovica, the race is still open because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote. The Serbian List won the majority of municipalities with a Serb majority without a runoff, including Leposaviq, Novobërdë, Shtërpcë, Zubin-Potok, Zveçan, Graçanicë, Ranillug, Partesh, and North Mitrovica. However, this party will face a runoff in Kllokot. (ANSA).
