Poland, jets in the air to ensure air safety

(ANSA) - ROMA, OCT 5 - Poland scrambled its aircraft to ensure air security after Russia launched attacks in the Ukrainian region of Lviv, near the Polish border. "Polish and allied aircraft are operating intensively in our airspace, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest level of operational readiness," the Polish Armed Forces Operations Command said in a post on X where it mentioned actions "of a preventive nature" that "aim to protect airspace and citizens, especially in areas adjacent to the threatened region." (ANSA).
