Adria 2025 international exercise held in Dubrovnik

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, OCT 3 - The Croatian city of Dubrovnik hosted "ADRIA 2025 - Adriatic Sea SARex / POLex / COMex," an international exercise organised by Croatia and supported by European and regional partners. The "Pollution Response Exercise" was organised as part of the Interreg project "ADRION ASAP - Adriatic Sensitive Areas Protection Mechanism," which was overseen by the Executive Secretariat of the Central European Initiative. The goal is to improve the protection of the Adriatic's most sensitive areas through shared procedures and increased joint operational capacity. The simulations focused on search and rescue, marine pollution response, and communication system interoperability. "For over thirty years, our organisation has been acting as a bridge between EU and non-EU countries, promoting European integration, sustainable development, and regional cohesion," said CEI Deputy Secretary Ambassador Ivana Pejovic. "ASAP reflects this mission in a concrete way: it transforms strategic priorities into practical actions, bringing together institutions, experts, and practitioners on the ground to protect our common sea."
