Bosnia does not approve reform agenda, EU funds at risk

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 17 - The Bosnia-Herzegovina (Bih) government was unable to even approve the EU-mandated reform agenda for the provision of the first funds under the Western Balkans growth plan. The provision was opposed by Minister for Economic Relations and Foreign Trade Stasa Kosarac (Serbian), a representative of the Republika Srpska (RS), Bih's majority entity, while Finance Minister Srdjan Amidzic (also Serbian) did not attend the government session. The EU has set a deadline of September 30 for the adoption of this reform agenda, and if it is not approved, the BIH will miss out on the 108 million euros envisaged by the growth plan to Sarajevo.
