Russian drones raise tensions: Italian senator Rojc

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 10 - "This unprecedented incursion has heightened tensions and concerns in the European Union. Russia's aggressive stance appears to be reflected in dangerous incidents like the one in Poland," said Tatjana Rojc (Democratic Party), Secretary of the Senate's EU Policies Committee. Rojc's statement came after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported to Parliament that "nineteen violations of Polish airspace" occurred overnight, with "four Russian drones likely shot down." "The Kremlin's renewed support for separatist leaders in the Balkans is also a significant destabilising factor in a geopolitical sphere in which Italy is directly involved, as is the entire EU integration programme. These are aspects of Russian foreign policy that must be evaluated as a whole because they are all related," Rojc underlined. (ANSA).
