FVG Governor to launch a collaboration with Styria

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 10 SET - "This occasion marks the start of a dialogue between two regions in this part of Europe that want to find areas of collaboration to strengthen development across a range of strategic sectors for both territories," said Friuli Venezia Giulia Governor Massimiliano Fedriga on the sidelines of a meeting with Mario Kunasek, governor of the Austrian state of Styria. On this occasion, a statement said, Fedriga reaffirmed the intention to consolidate bilateral relations, giving fresh momentum to a shared path rooted in historical and cultural ties and focused today on common challenges. The goal is to sign a memorandum of understanding that will clearly define areas of cooperation, with particular attention to infrastructure and transportation, tourism, culture, and civil protection—especially in light of new challenges posed by climate change and flood risk. Concrete steps include exchanging experiences and information, mutual support in organizing conferences and events, promoting bilateral projects, and direct contacts between institutions. Within this framework is also the intention to develop joint events that can strengthen the attractiveness of the Alpine-Adriatic area and showcase its international profile. "Collaboration," Fedriga underlined, "is a resource for tackling global challenges together with concrete tools and sustainable solutions, highlighting the excellence of our territories and strengthening the Alpine-Adriatic area's role in Europe."
