Kosovo, Kurti announces measures to strengthen the army

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 8 - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced a number of measures aimed at strengthening and militarising the Kosovo Security Force, which Pristina hopes to transform into a regular army. Speaking at the headquarters of his Vetevendosje (Self-Determination) party, which unanimously nominated him for a new term as head of the future government, Kurti announced that over one billion euros will be allocated over the next four years for the development and creation of the new army. Kurti also mentioned that military drone production would begin in Kosovo, as well as the formation of a joint military unit with the Albanian armed forces. (ANSA).
