(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 5 - "Welcome, President; your presence in Rome is an opportunity to reaffirm the friendship that binds Poland and Italy, which is based on an ancient, consolidated relationship," and "a friendship that has been further strengthened through shared commitment to the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance, and which finds great political and economic cooperation." This was stated by President Sergio Mattarella while welcoming Polish President Karol Nawrocki to the Quirinale Palace. "Naturally," he added, "your presence here in Rome is also an opportunity, as you will undoubtedly have done with the Prime Minister, to acknowledge and express the desire to intensify cooperation between our countries: we have an economic activity that is shared in many ways, integrated, with great collaboration, and there is always room to improve it."
