(ANSA) - KARPACZ, 03 SET - "Doing things yourself and being responsible for what you do: that's what becoming a scout is all about, as well as getting young people away from their computers and smartphones. Being a scout is a school of life and a school for future leaders," said former President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, speaking at the panel discussion 'World Scout Jamboree - Poland 2027' on the opening day of the 34th Economic Forum in Karpacz (Poland). The international gathering, which will be attended by around 50,000 young people from all over the world, is held every four years and will be hosted from July 29 to August 8, 2027, in the city of Gdańsk. "The 2027 Jamboree is certainly a great opportunity," explained Duda, recalling his own experience as a young scout, "to raise awareness of Poland, and for some of our guests, even to show them where it is on the map: we are the heart of Europe. Our scouts will certainly get to know those from other countries and promote our territory, so that those who come can return again. I hope there will be more meetings between young people in this regard." (ANSA).
