(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 2 - The presidential panel of the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF) on Tuesday focused on Europe's ability to remain relevant in a changing world and its partnership with the United States, as the presidents of Czechia, Estonia, Montenegro, and Slovenia discussed a variety of topics, including the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, according to Slovenian news agency STA. Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar said she believes Europe can still play a decisive role in the world by fighting for human rights, the rule of law, and democracy, despite stating in her opening address yesterday that Europe's glory days are over. Czech President Petr Pavel went on to discuss a new bipolarity, but this time between the East and the West, as was the case during the Cold War. "It appears that what we are seeing now is a conflict between democracies and various types of autocracies. According to STA, Estonian President Alar Karis stated that the EU should stop focussing solely on Europe and begin talking to other small countries around the world, all while promoting a value-based world. Montenegro's Jakov Milatovic, the only non-EU president at the debate, expressed optimism about Europe's unity and urged EU leaders to have more self-confidence, according to STA. (ANSA).
