(ANSA) - TRIESTE, AUG 30 - Starting Sept. 8, trucks arriving from Slovenia and heading to Italy will be able to use the H4 highway in the Vipava Valley, which is currently closed for maintenance. Only one lane reserved for trucks will be reopened. As a result, traffic now diverted at the Fernetti pass could lighten, after the inconveniences recorded in recent weeks on the Trieste road system. According to local media, the breakthrough came yesterday after a meeting between representatives of Dars (the company that manages Slovenia's highway network), haulers and local communities. The closure of H4 was originally planned until the end of November, and as now established, heavy traffic to Slovenia will continue to be routed to Fernetti. In addition to the lane for Italy-bound trucks, another lane reserved for emergency vehicles will remain open along H4. Non-commercial and local traffic will continue to be diverted onto the parallel regional road until the work is completed. (ANSA).
