(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 26 - Germany does not see the preconditions for recognising a Palestinian state, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated today in Berlin during a press conference with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney. "The Canadian government is aware of our position; we will not participate in this initiative. We believe that the conditions for recognising a Palestinian state are completely lacking. Opinions differ on this issue, and the events of recent days have not changed our position," the Chancellor said. (ANSA).
